Easter 2017 Alpena Michigan family eggs, food, fun
A mild Easter 2017 after a heavy rain brought an egg hunt with the family. Easter 2017 Alpena Michigan family eggs, food, fun
The kids are at the age that they all love the Easter egg hunt.
We find that separating the eggs works best so there are not fights.
The older kids have the left side with more eggs and the younger daughter gets the right side with less eggs.
In the end, everyone is happy, including the parents. 🙂
The Easter bunny tends to set the eggs on the same familiar trail every year.
The kids do not seem to mind.
My oldest daughter said that the egg hunt is her favorite thing to do on Easter.
This egg hunt trumps the Easter basket hunt where they receive lots more goodies!
Here are s0me fun images from Easter 2017.

Boyne Mountain family Photography winter ski session Paul Retherford
The last weekend at Boyne Mountain brought the sun, mild weather, and perfect spring conditions for skiing. This family was initially booked for Boyne Highlands but they were closed. We rescheduled our shoot to Boyne Mountain family Photography winter ski session Paul Retherford.
The whole idea for the photography session was Christmas cards.
The mother and father did not want any images of themselves, but I managed a few cute images with them included.
We all had a nice time climbing around the mountain and capturing fun images of the girls on skis and snowboards.
The skies were bright blue and the beaming sun made it feel like almost 70 degrees outside.
It was the middle of the day so the sun was high but we managed to work with the harsh light and create amazing images.
If you are looking for a family session at Boyne Mountain Resort please call me at 231-445-1793.

Tahquamenon Falls and Brewery family trip
Since we had nothing happening Saturday we decided to load the kids up in the van and head out to Tahquamenon Falls and Brewery. Family winter trip Tahquamenon Falls and Brewery.
It was bitterly cold but it didn’t look it with blue skies most of the way north.
The winds were heavy and there was a light coating of snow so the white-outs happened when any cars drove the opposite direction.
All three kids were so excited to see a huge partially frozen falls in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
We almost made a HUGE mistake by forgetting our oldest daughters jacket.
As it turned out, we just forgot our youngest daughters hat and gloves.
She was happy wearing my wives mittens.
She looked like a lobster.
The brewery was full with snowmobilers for the most part. There were only maybe 10 total cars in the parking lot.
On the way home we swung through Rudyard, Michigan and by our old house which is for sale again.
We lived in a nice orange brick house on 1st street for about four years.
Here are a selection of images from our trip.
