Northern Michigan Wedding Alpena, Michigan

Alpena, Michigan is not known for being the tourist side of the state. However, you can find everything in Alpena. This couple who grew up in Alpena and now reside in Gaylord have Alpena Michigan Wedding Rotary Island Fletcher Street Depot Photography.

There are not a lot of options in the Alpena area for large Weddings.

The Rotary Island Mill Park area is a nice outdoor venue option. It has a walking bridge crossing the Thunder Bay River, paths, gazebo, and lots of river views.

Fletcher Street Depot was once the Fletcher Brewing Company and has been converted into an event center. The Fletcher Street Depot has indoor and outdoor areas. It is large and needs lots of artistic eye to decorate for a Wedding. The AC units are under-par for a hot day like the 90 plus degrees we had too.

Lisa and Justin planned a perfect Wedding day in Alpena, Michigan.

The Alpena, Michigan Wedding day

The day began for Lisa at The Figurehead salon.

Then on to Holiday Inn Express on the Thunder Bay River which is newly built.

As the Rotary Island was filling with guests, Lisa and Justin were getting the last touches ready.

The Wtoo dress and Caparros shoes Lisa wore were stunning.

Lisa’s father, Ed, walked Lisa down the longest Wedding aisle in history.

From where the Wedding Ceremony was located under the gazebo you can see across the river, the walking bridge, and the circle walk leading to the gazebo.

It is beautiful watching the bride with her father as the veil is floating in the wind and they wait patiently as everyone proceeds to the ceremony before slowing walking arm in arm with dad.

Lisa’s good friend, Bob, was the officiant for their day. He also surprised them singing a song at the reception after their first dance.

The short ceremony was welcome in the scorching 90 degree sun. The guests searched for shade whenever possible. Thank goodness for the brisk winds. It felt like a blow dryer was on me all day long.

The Wedding Reception

Dream Event Decorating took The Fletcher Street Depot and transformed it into a fairyland. The bouquet design and boutonnierres was also so incredible. I commend them on their design and flawless setup during the day.

Lisa and Justin were in awe of all of the work that went into their day.

The DJ for the evening was Chuck with Rusch Entertainment. He was ready to party from the start but the crowd was a little slow to dance. I think it was the heat/food combo that made them relax. It didn’t take too long to entice everyone to grab their friends and hit the dance floor.

There was a gorgeous Wedding cake in white with a simple design that stood out in the middle of the Wedding Reception. The cake was compliments of Sue Swider of Alpena.

Guests were transported to Fletcher Street Depot with a horse carriage provided by the bride and groom.
