Why I love Northern Michigan Winters and why you should too Petoskey

Winter in Petoskey, Michigan by a local resident

How can you live in Northern Michigan winters?

I hear this from my Clients all the time.

To be honest, snow is our friend.  We love snow and use snow as a base to plan our activities.  There are so many things that you can do in, on, with, by, around, over, and under snow.

Some see snow and get immediately cold.

A good shopping trip to a quality winter sports store will cure the chills. Just pick up a nice pair of boots, snow pants, heavy jacket, hat, and gloves.  If you are really intense grab a face mask and goggles too. 🙂

Remember that layering is a thing of beauty when it comes to cold weather.

Now that you are warm and you have trained your brain to think about the positive aspects of Winter.  Let’s go!

Grab your skates, sled, skis, snowshoes, backpack, snowmobile, fishing rods, running shoes, etc. Use your imagination and you will find that Winter is a time to enjoy and not just hibernate.

Here are some images from a walk around Petoskey with my daughter in the Deuter backpack and my weimaraner in his winter jacket.  Enjoy!
