Rustic Northern Michigan Wedding Photography

The Les Cheneaux Islands are located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan east of the Mackinac Bridge in the towns of Cedarville and Hessel. They are a semi remote chain of islands located on Lake Huron. The islands are mostly Summer homes to vacationers from all over the World. There is a laid back sense of life in the community that tourists really enjoy. Les Cheneaux Landing Resort Wedding Photography Cedarville, Northern Michigan.

The Les Cheneaux Islands and the Les Cheneaux Landing Resort is a special place for Jeni and family. She has been coming to the resort for as long as she can remember. She also graduated in the class of 1993 from Cedarville High School.

Jeni and Darrin met during their passion of mountain bike racing. They both travel around the United States in their RV competing in mountain bike races with their one weimaraner in tow, down from two last week. Their 15 year old weimaraner passed two days prior to their Wedding.:-( He had a wonderful long life and they knew it was his time.

Needless to say, this Wedding was going to have accents of bikes, outdoors, and dogs. Jeni spent a ton of time finding details that would fit her rustic Wedding Up North. She did a wonderful job of putting it all together.

The Wedding dress was unique in that it was mom’s Wedding dress and had been rebuilt to modernize it and make it fit Jeni perfectly. I thought they did a wonderful job building and tailoring the dress!

The Wedding day started out with a mountain bike ride in the morning, followed by hair and makeup by a friend, then a first look with the Jeni and Darrin, and the rest of the normal Wedding day.

Everything happened at the Les Cheneaux Landing Resort so we had to be strategic on, semi hiding, the Bride and Groom prior to the Wedding. I though we did a great job capturing images but also making sure she stayed clear of the family and guests.

There was minimal fall color around the area. We found one nice tree on a neighbors property that we made work for fall color images.

The Wedding colors were Purple and Orange.

Jeni and Darrin had their dog Klaus be the ring bearer. He was fired up with his orange bow tie.

I captured some cool aerial images of the ceremony site prior to the event. They give a nice perspective of the Wedding venue.
