Mission Point Resort outdoor reception Mission Church Wedding Photography Mackinac Island

Relaxed Mackinac Island Wedding Photography

Leah, the Bride, is a planner.  That is what she does for her career and that is what she also did on her Wedding day.

Leah and Stephen came from downstate Michigan to have a destination Wedding on Mackinac Island.

They chose the Mission Church for their Wedding ceremony location.  They liked the intimate feel of the church and the historic features that worked well with their details.

The Wedding accommodations and Wedding reception were all located at Mission Point Resort.

Leah and Stephen had a suite at Mission Point Resort that had a nice walk out.  It was perfect.  Her friend came to the room to do her hair and they just opened the door to get natural light.

I was only commissioned for four hours of the 10+ hour Wedding day.   I photographed from just before the first look through the the Bride and Groom entering the outdoor reception on the patio, cutting the cake, and doing a dance.

Leah hired a bagpiper to surprise Stephen after they were introduced as husband and wife.  Look at Stephen’s face when he heard the bagpiper start as they were having their first kiss.  The bagpiper led them out of Mission Church to a HUGE crowd that had backed up Main Street to watch.  It was really cool!

Leah and Stephen did a carriage ride around Mackinac Island.  We stopped along the way to capture images.  I rode along on bike, as I always do, and photographed them with beautiful landscapes, architecture, flowers, and more.  They will cherish those horse carriage images forever!

Leah had vendors shipping in details from all over the World.  She had linens shipped in, jewelry from etsy, details from amazon, and more.

The vendors all did an amazing job working together and making this the perfect day for Leah and Stephen.
