Mackinac Island destination Wedding at Grand Hotel
Congratulations Joanne and David!
Not only did they get married on their Wedding day, but they also gained a grand daughter. That is right, David’s son had a baby girl while the reception on the porch at the Grand Hotel was happening. David received a call at 1pm with the wonderful news.
They were medivaced off of Mackinac Island on Friday night during the Wedding rehearsal to Traverse City, Michigan hospital. Since they were from out of state, and a month early, everyone was anxious.
The story was big new, but not as big as this beautiful couples Wedding day. It didn’t steal their thunder. It just added to the awesomeness of the day.
The Wedding was an intimate event with about 45 close friends and family.
The Wedding Ceremony was at Little Stone Church. Pastor Fred Zobel had a wonderful ceremony.
The Wedding Reception was a lunch event on the porch at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. They went with the intimate Wedding package that included a Grand Hotel cake, really heavy appetizers, cocktails, and three piece Grand Hotel trio.
You could not ask for a nicer day on Mackinac Island on the one of a kind Grand Hotel porch. The weather was perfect, and there was a nice “island breeze.”
Joanne wore a gorgeous ivory Maggie Sottero Wedding gown. She told me she tried on one dress and found the one. She had her hair and makeup designed by Astor’s salon at the Grand Hotel.
The Grand Hotel Wedding Coordinator, Marty Davis, as always, did a spectacular job.
The Grand Hotel Wedding carriage picked them up after the completion of their two hour lunch reception on the West porch at the Grand Hotel.
We traveled around Mackinac Island and captured beautiful images.
The Bride and Groom chose a very simple day with no Wedding colors and Wedding theme.
