Surprise Proposal Engagement Mackinac Island

Ryan called me a couple of weeks prior to his visit to Mackinac Island in Northern Michigan.  He had a plan to propose to his girlfriend, Bridget, while they were vacationing at The Inn at Stonecliffe on Mackinac Island.

Ryan had been to Mackinac Island many times, but this was the first time for Bridget.

Ryan loved Sunset Rock at The Inn at Stonecliffe.  He wanted to have a surprise Proposal on the rock with the Mackinac Bridge and the Straits of Mackinac in the background.

His plan all came together on July 16, 2015.

I arrived out to Sunset Rock about an hour early to set up and make sure that all my metering was correct.   I set up my light stand and clipped my GoPro to capture the audio.  I also used my recorder to help capture better audio for the show.

I told Ryan to interact with me when he arrives to Sunset Rock, and I think he did a nice job.

What you don’t hear is Bridget say to Ryan, “He is taking our picture.” 🙂

After the surprise Proposal we jumped on our bikes and toured around Mackinac Island for an Engagement Photography session.  What a great way to remember your Engagement, Proposal, vacation, and just have fun.
