Congratulations Kristi and John!

Kristi loves to plan, loves Pinterest, and LOVES John. This combination all taken together makes for a Wedding day to be remembered in Leland, Michigan.

Leland, Michigan is a Northern Michigan quaint fishing town with lots of character. Located on Lake Michigan and Lake Leelanau, west of Traverse City, north of Glen Arbor, and south of Northport.

One highlight of Leland include Fishtown, which is a historic fishing village that is home to commercial and private fishermen. If you have not been to Fishtown or Lake Leelanau, do go.

Leland has tons of beaches, wineries, shops, fishing, restaurants, lodging, and more. You can walk almost anywhere in Leland, Michigan.

Kristi and Jon chose the Old Art Building as their Wedding ceremony location. The Old Art Building is a historic building in downtown Leland that has cathedral ceilings, a stage, and a large area in front of the stage for a Wedding ceremony. The windows that wrap all around the building let in tons of natural light. The Old Art Building is a nice Wedding ceremony location for Weddings less than 200 people.

The Leland Lodge was the location for lodging, getting ready for the Wedding, and the Wedding reception. The Leland Lodge is located a few blocks outside of downtown and within walking distance of the Old Art Building if you need.

The Leland Lodge has lots of perks. First of all, the staff is very accommodating. The food is fantastic. There is lodging available. The Wedding reception area has windows on both ends allowing for lots of natural light. They overlook the Leland Country Club. Located just a few blocks from Lake Michigan and Lake Leelanau.

Kristi and John love the University of Michigan. So much so that their Wedding colors were Maize and Blue. They had tons of Michigan details throughout the day too. One of the cool details was the Groom’s cake from Cate’s Sweet Creations.

Kristi and John share a love for wine too. They bottled their own wine as wedding favors for the guests. They also used wine corks to make a heart and the wedding boutinerres. During our off location shoot we stopped at both 45 North Winery and The Boathouse Winery, two of their favorites in the area. Kristi even wore cork shoes!

Kristi and John danced their first dance to “Who I Am with You” by Chris Young.

Northern Michigan DJ with Paul Widlund kept the dance floor rocking the entire night. He even joined the floor a few times to dance with the guests.
